Ashview Heights

A Legacy

Ashview Heights is one of the historic residential neighborhoods of Atlanta’s Westside, located just west of the Atlanta University Center. Established in the early 20th century, the neighborhood grew as a stable community of working and middle-class Black families, educators, and professionals connected to nearby institutions like Morehouse College, Spelman College, and Clark Atlanta University.

Over generations, Ashview Heights developed a strong identity rooted in homeownership, education, and civic leadership. Its tree-lined streets and historic homes reflect the neighborhood’s legacy as a place where families built stability and invested in their community.

Today, Ashview Heights stands at an important moment of renewal. Community organizations, residents, and partners are working together to restore homes, strengthen neighborhood infrastructure, and ensure longtime residents can remain part of the neighborhood’s future.
